- A cup of red lentils
- One large onion
- 1 carrot
- 1 potato
- Salt, pepper, paprika
- 1 spoon butter

- Chop onions and carrot.
- Fry them in a piece of butter carefully. They should soften; should not turn into brown.
- Add potato.
- Add lentils and stir occasionally.
- Pour 3-4 glasses of hot water.
- Simmer the soup until the lentils are soft.
- You can check the potatoes and carrots in order to understand if it’s ready or not.
- When the soup is ready and hot, blend it in a food blender for quite a while.
- To add more taste, melt butter in a pan, add paprika, dried mint and pepper. Stir for 3-4 minutes.
- Pour the butter in the soup.
- You can serve Turkish Lentil Soup with lemon edges.
