Ingredients

  • A cup of red lentils
  • One large onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 potato
  • Salt, pepper, paprika
  • 1 spoon butter

Turkish Lentil Soup Recipe

  1. Chop onions and carrot.
  2. Fry them in a piece of butter carefully. They should soften; should not turn into brown.
  3. Add potato.
  4. Add lentils and stir occasionally.
  5. Pour 3-4 glasses of hot water.
  6. Simmer the soup until the lentils are soft.
  7. You can check the potatoes and carrots in order to understand if it’s ready or not.
  8. When the soup is ready and hot, blend it in a food blender for quite a while.
  9. To add more taste, melt butter in a pan, add paprika, dried mint and pepper. Stir for 3-4 minutes.
  10. Pour the butter in the soup.
  11. You can serve Turkish Lentil Soup with lemon edges.
