Ingredients

  • 2-3 sheets of filo pastry ( Filo pastry is called “Yufka” in Turkey)
  • 200 ml olive or sunflower oil
  • For filling:
  • 200 grams feta cheese or Turkish white cheese
  • 1/4 bunch of parsley
  • Pinch of salt

Turkish Pastry Rolls Recipe – Sigara Borek

  1. First of all you should divide the filo pastry into 2 semi circles, than divide each semi circle and make four curved triangles.
  2. Place the filling at the wide end, fold the filo pastry holding the filling and roll the pastry up like a small cigarette.
  3. Wet the end of the filo pastry so that it sticks down.
  4. Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the rolls until they are golden.
  5. If you don’t want to fry them, you can bake them for 15 minutes at 200 degrees C.
  6. You can make the filling with minced meat. To prepare the filling with meat, cook the mince with some onions and tomato.

Serve Turkish pastry rolls hot with tomato or yogurt sauce.
